THE PROJECT

The Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, Israel (“SMC”), is the largest governmental hospital in Israel, and one of the largest medical centers in the Middle East.

SMC was established in 1948 on the ruins of a deserted British Army camp. Over the years, SMC develops into a modern medical center, and is now called “the city of health”.

SMC is composed of a general hospital, a rehabilitation hospital, medical and research laboratories which account for 25% of the medical research performed in Israel, simulation centers, hotels and shopping centers. general hospital is comprised of the heart center, a cancer center, a children’s hospital, an OBG & YN center, in addition to outpatient clinics and day care hospitalization. The rehabilitation center is composed of the rehabilitation hospital, Psychiatric hospital, convalescent hospital, Multiple Sclerosis ward and a recovery hotel.

Since 1999, E.D.C has been involved in the renovation and expansion of all SMC’s existing facilities. E.D.C has constructed approx 17,000 SQM in the Heart Center, 15,000 SQM in the Cancer Center, 25,000 SQM in the Safra Children’s Hospital, a maternity and woman’s center, a rehabilitation hospital, approx 14,000 SQM of laboratories, 20,000 SQM of outpatient clinics and institutes and more.

Within the framework of the General Hospital, E.D.C executed the new ER, the intensive care units, an operating room wing which includes 24 operating rooms as well as a hybrid operating room, cath labs, nuclear medicine, an autoimmune institute, a national burn center and logistics.
