THE PROJECT

The UGMC is the most advanced medical center In West Africa. The new medical center designed to provide array of advance medical services in medicine, teaching and research.
The national medical & healthcare is attached to the University of Ghana, the country’s foremost higher education institution, and includes teaching facility, simulation center for training medical staff and research facilities.

E.D.C had accompanied the project from its inception, and was instrumental in arranging the financial planning, programming, executing the design, construction and acquisition of all medical and non-medical equipment for the entire project, as well as managed the collaboration with medical centers in Israel to train and teach medical staff in Israel.
As part of E.D.C’s role in the project, E.D.C provided maintenance services for the running in period.

E.D.C installed and supplied a data center with HIS, LIS and RIS and more elements in order to allow the hospital to accommodate all current technological advancements.

IMAGING CENTER

The UGMC Medical Center’s radiology department provides on-site diagnostic imaging services, and includes advanced equipment such as: MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, CATH LAB (Angiography), mammography, fluoroscopy and more.

All data is recorded digitally and can be instantly viewed by specialists overseas for analysis and second opinions (Pacs).

CARDIOLOGY INSTITUTE

The UGMC Cardiology Institute offers  advanced technology for diagnostic procedures, Cardiology ward, ICU Cardiology, heart and chest surgeries, heart and chest surgery ICU, hospitalization wards, Cath unit, Eco unit, heart rehabilitation and clinics.  

TRAINING SIMULATION CENTER

The UGMC Medical Training and Simulation Center uses the most advanced technology and simulators to enable professionals in the field to practice and experience a virtual reality environment, which includes advanced tools such as manikins, providing the perfect surrounding to practice testing and assessment, to acquire and improve clinical and communication skills.

OPERATION THEATRE

UGMC has 12 advanced operating rooms (shell for 3 more) with modern equipment. The operating rooms are the heart of the new hospital based on a combination of advanced technology and human engineering with an emphasis on efficiency in the work environment.

The advanced and effective operating rooms allow for optimal functioning between them and the rest of the hospital.

The operating rooms have control, monitoring and command systems and include lighting, power, electric doors, accessories and electronic equipment & all necessary medical gas system.

IVF

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is one of the most common treatments among the advanced fertility treatments. In vitro fertilization is the most widely used method of dealing with fertility issues in the modern age.

E.D.C built an IVF institute, including an operating theater laboratories and day care.
